Does the €150 customs duty exemption still exist?

Answer from EUCBT Editors · reviewed

No. The €150 customs duty exemption was abolished on 1 July 2026, following the Council’s adoption of Regulation (EU) 2026/382 on 11 February 2026.

For distance-sale consignments valued up to €150, a temporary flat €3 customs duty per item (per declaration line) now applies, whatever VAT scheme you use. Goods above €150 follow the normal customs duty rules for their product type.
