My EU customers are confused by extra charges at delivery. I want to be transparent about the €3 duty and €2 fee.
Be clear and upfront, ideally before checkout. Add a short note to your shop policies and EU listings, for example:
“EU orders: since 1 July 2026, EU customs charge a €3 duty per item type on parcels up to €150, and from 1 November 2026 a €2 EU handling fee per item type (plus VAT) applies. Depending on how your order is shipped, these may be collected by the carrier at delivery.”
Then check with your carrier how they collect these charges, and adjust the wording if you include them in your prices instead. Linking buyers to an official source or to our EU rule tracker also helps build trust.
